My interests in jazz are:
Avant-garde jazz; history of jazz; the downtown New York avant-garde jazz community; jazz tenor saxophone; academic studies of jazz from the angles of contemporary cultural studies, social and political thought, aesthetics, and philosophy of music.
More about what I do:
I am a Ph.D. student in Philosophy at the University of South Florida working in areas such as aesthetics and philosophy of music. I am especially interested in cultural, social, and political theories of jazz, all done from both contemporary and historical viewpoints.
