My interests in jazz are:
Programming jazz on the air (radio), particularly new jazz releases by current artists. Also featuring modern composers and local artists. Enjoy attending and supporting live jazz at local venues, as well as jazz festivals around the world.
More about what I do:
Radio programmer and music director for the past 45+ years, at several radio stations (WQAX, KUCI, KKUP, KSJS). Presently, I am producer/programmer/host of "The Creative Source", featuring progressive jazz and fusion, new jazz releases, current artists, original compositions on www.soulandjazz.com radio, based in the UK. 2-time winner of the Bobby Jackson Award for Internet/Non-terrestrial jazz programming, and 7-time winner of Jazz Programmer of the Year with Gavin and JazzWeek. Winner of the Duke DuBois Humanitarian Award at JazzWeek for lifetime contributions to the jazz music and jazz radio community.
I support the JJA because
Any organization that supports jazz needs to be supported, and this is one of the premier organizations to do this! Howard does an splendid job.

I have been a member of the JJA Book Award Committee for the past 3 years.
