More about what I do:

I was a contributor to JazzTimes magazine from 2002 until recently. In Pittsburgh (where I've lived all my life) I have covered local and touring acts for alternative weeklies. I also maintain the blog ShanleyOnMusic.blogspot.com. My latest (non jazz) album with the band the Harry Von Zells, came out in April 2023.

I support the JJA because

...it can get lonely at gigs, and I don't always get to talk to people who like this music.
