My interests in jazz are:
I am the author of Rabbit's Blues: The Life and Music of Johnny Hodges; Kansas City Jazz: A Little Evil Will Do You Good; and Sax Expat: Don Byas.
I have formed the Johnny Hodges Appreciation Society to promote K-12 jazz education in the Boston-Cambridge, Mass. area, and to honor the life and music of Johnny Hodges, a native of Cambridge who grew up in Boston. Our memorial plaque honoring him will be installed Saturday, July 25th (his birthday), across the street from his birthplace at 137 Putnam Avenue, Cambridge, Mass.
