Arts journalist need all the skills and knowledge that journalists working any other beat need-- plus more.  In this online discussion, our panelists  talk about what’s being taught in academic courses for emerging arts journalists and what journalists need to know to cover the arts in real-life jobs.
  • Johanna Keller, director of the Goldring Arts Journalism Program, Syracuse University
  • Douglas McLennan, founder of ArtsJournal.com, Associate Director of the USC Arts Journalism Program at Annenberg School for Communications and Journalism 
  •  Jordi Oliveresproducer of tv news spots for Univision in Miami, who graduated from Columbia J School last year, after getting his bachelor's at Berklee (he's a guitarist).
